UCC's Female high jumper, Amoanimaa Rose Yeboah, aged 22, grabbed Ghana’s first gold medal in athletics at the ongoing 14th African Games (Accra 20234.

In 2019 African Games in Rabat, Morocco,Amoanimaa, secured gold with a jump of 1.84 metres.

Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah, Ghana's accomplished high jumper, has achieved a remarkable feat by clinching the gold medal at the ongoing African  Games 2024 in the high jump sports discipline
 

She demonstrated her skill by jumping 1.94 meters over the bar, taking first place and setting new national record in the process.


The University of Cape Coast student's exceptional leap proved triumphant, outperforming her competitors. Cyprus' Elena Kulichenko secured the silver medal with a height of 1.91 meters, while Finland's Venla Pulkkanen secured the bronze medal, reaching a personal best of 1.89 meters.

This victory marks a spectacular culmination of the past three years for the 22-year-old athlete who has won Ghana's medal at the ongoing Games. 

Her achievements have been noteworthy, having previously seized the gold medal at the Africa Games held in Ghana l year. Her accolades  include a gold medal at the African Games .
